Management wanted to reconstruct the lounge located in the center of the atrium. The footings were installed the concrete was poured and they were ready to connect all the new underground plumbing to the existing 4 inch cast iron sewer pipe. But, they ran into a big problem.
The existing cast iron pipes were deteriorating from years of soda going down the drains. Adding to the problem, the original pipes were installed under the main stairway of the hotel lobby.
