American Trenchless Technologies Saves the Day with Sewer Lining for The Devonshire Building in Chicago
6334 Sheridan Rd Chicago was having major problems with its main sewer pipe from the building under Sheridan road to the city sewer. The sewer was completely blocked by tree roots and causing sewage to back up into the building and the 1st-floor units.
The Devonshire Building, located across the street from Loyola University, was originally built in 1924. The sewer is made of a vitrified clay pipe (VCP) and was made to last a very long time but the pipe joints are the weak link.
American Trenchless installed a one-piece sewer liner from inside the building out to the city main sewer connection under Sheridan Rd. This sewer lining system solves the problem of tree root intrusion because it covers all the pipe joints and creates one solid pipe within the existing host pipe from inside the building all the way out to the city main sewer. The problem was solved and the building management was happy and saved thousands of dollars.
